Three is the magic number for World Calligraphy Day

Manuscript Pen Company is putting pen to paper on the third World Calligraphy Day, proving that three is indeed the magic number.

The campaign, which takes place on 14th August, will continue its quest to encourage creativity amongst keen writers young and old.

With celebrations happening world wide and calligraphers getting their pens at the ready, love for the event is already flowing before ink has dried on a selection of partnerships that Manuscript has started for the event.

The historic Shropshire-based brand has partnered with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity to Say Something Special to patients in the hospital’s care.

Members of the public are asked to send a letter, drawing, illustration or written note to 2nd Floor, 6 Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4BL where they will be distributed amongst patients with a selection of products from Manuscript’s new Lionheart range.

Away from home-soil, Manuscript has joined forces with calligraphers in India, Canada, USA and mainland Europe to run a selection of workshops to celebrating the art of ‘beautiful writing.’

Charlie Stockbridge, Managing Director of Manuscript Pen Company said: “Calligraphy, as a craft and skill, has seen a huge increase in interest and participants in the last three years or so. World Calligraphy Day is not only a celebration of the traditional art, but every way in which you can put pen to paper.

“Stationery can be used in so many ways. There is no better way than spread love, joy and friendship. The Say Something Special campaign aims to do just that!”

It’s important for our sick kids to be able to express themselves and how they’re feeling, and letter writing is a great way to do this. This year we’ll be supporting the campaign by encouraging our patients to put pen to paper and get creative in their writing.”
